WOW! was the first word out of everyone's mouth, as we took in the view of Positano. This was backed up by the beautiful greeting by Marco (Host) and Maria Dolores (the cheerful and gracious housekeeper). We were a group of 15, 8 adults and 7 children - ranging from 18 months to 13 years. Our accommodation exceeded our expectations, presented very clean, had all facilities we required and the beautiful fruit on arrival was much appreciated. Marco and Maria Dolores gave all families a complete overview of the apartments. The terrace area was a fantastic common place for all our families to share in eating, drinking and playing. The view from the terrace was incredible at all facets of the day and night. As we had arrived early evening, Marco being the generous host, organised dinner for our group at a local restaurant called 'The Mediterranean'. Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and great service. ( Highly recommended.) Marco also offered his local knowledge of Positano and gave us maps and directions of the area and was also helpful in organising tours and transport if needed. It was great to have a local contact. Our stay at 'Casa San Matteo' was agreed by all to be the best part of our holiday. We can recommend 'Casa San Matteo' to groups and families. We would all like to thank Marco, Maria Dolores and Massimo for their wonderful hospitality, friendship and commitment to making our stay memorable. We hope to see you again soon! A&P O. Australia - July 2011 Our stay at Casa San Matteo was very enjoyable. The Villa is large and spacious with modern amenities. There were ten of us staying in the apartments. The view is amazing and many of our leisure time was spent there. Had some great celebrations on the balcony with plenty of food and drink. Every Villa has a balcony with spectacular views. Marco our landlord was excellent and organised some wonderful tours for us. His help made the holiday even more memorable. A highlight was the trip to the Isle of Capri by boat. Also the memorable dinner at Il Trovo restaurant at Montepretusso above Positano. There were a lot of steps to and from the villa and the town, but that was to be expected in Positano. It kept us nice and fit so that we could eat and drink more. Thankyou Marco and Massimo for a memorable holiday. Thanks to John for putting us onto the villa originally. Over a period of several years I have stayed in different apartments at San Matteo with various members of my family. Each visit has been a unique experience. Despite its modern comforts, there is an illusion of stepping into the past when you enter the cool rooms with their high-vaulted ceilings. The best vacation of our lives were spent on that house. We recomend it all the way!!! I must have about 800 pictures of the place, is amazing and a dream house in every sense. The owner is a great person and I hope to bring him a bottle of Chilean wine next time I go with all my family. My wife fell in love with the house and me again. We hope to comeback very soon. Ch.
